Knil the Sword Hero

When dark times comes, a new hero arises!

Inspired by the legend, this hero has been carefully crafted with the 8x8 pixel tiles constraint of the NES, minimalistic animations for the maximum retro effect!

[EDIT 23/02/2025]: I've added the choice betweena  STANDARD (single use) licence and a PRO (unlimited multi use) licence.

This pack of sprites contain all the following animations for this fearless hero:
- Idle
- Walk
- Crouch
- Standing Attack (can be reused for standard inAir Attack)
- Crouching Attack
- Jump (same as Crouch)
- Fall (same as Crouch)
- Hurt
- Attack upwards
- Attack downwards
- Face Action Left arm up
- Face Action Right arm up
- Victory pose both arms up

STANDARD licence contains 5 color variations  as well as an RGB mask.
PRO licence contains 12 color variations  as well as an RGB mask.

This asset intrigues me as it looks like a clown but also Link from Zelda 2.  That being said, I can't work with the limit of one end product.  Sometimes it gets muddy with demo versions or special editions of my games.  To be clear it isn't a price issue.  It's my brain that cannot handle making sure this license is followed along with every other license in a project.

Hello theloon, thanks for reaching out! That is a very interesting reflection indeed, as I never encounter this situation before.

Well, I think demos are ok as imo they count as an iteration towards an End Product.

I would say that different editions are ok too, like a PC version + a console version for instance, as long as it can qualify as the same game, and the other variations are ports.

I don't want my licencing to be too restrictive, so I am open to consider other alternatives like CC-by-SAor something.

Or I could keep the 1$ licence for 1 End Product and propose another choice with a more extended one, like a Pro Licence for like 3$ maybe?

I mean, those sound like reasonable options.  I suspect even pretty smart devs have a tendency to just keep scrolling when the license gets more complicated than CC BY or CC0.  Human nature and all :)  I could live with the "Pro" license option.  Or, some middle ground like bumping the price up to your "pro" level and just going CC0 or CC BY (Attribution).  Thanks for even considering it!

Hey theloon!
After some reflection, I choose to offer two types of licences.
Standard licence would be for budget and 1 End Product.
Pro licence is an upgrade that allows for unlimited End Product.

However, as of today, I didn't choose a Creative Commons licence for this item.
I have other assets under CC licence that I want to keep the less restrictive as possible with a "Name your own price" approach.
On the other hand, works like this one that are a little more original and elaborated and thus implied a bit more time and effort to produce, hence the minimal base price.

I want to contribute to make gamedev more accessible to everyone, but I'm also trying to gather some funds to invest in my game projects, so I'm trying to stay true to what I believe in ^^

Totally get it.  I didn't fully grasp the downsides of cc0.  This is very, very clear and fair.  Thank you!
